Chapter 1 – साखी
Kabir (1398-1518) was a saint and revolutionary poet who awakened society against religious rituals and blind beliefs. His teachings emphasized spiritual experience, the union of soul and God, and seeing divinity in simple life.
Chapter 2 – पद
Meera Bai (1503-1546) was a renowned poetess of the Bhakti movement who devoted her life entirely to Lord Krishna, renouncing worldly sorrows. Her compositions are filled with love and devotion and are widely celebrated across North India.
Chapter 3 – मनुष्यता
Maithili Sharan Gupt (1886-1964) was a national poet who depicted Indian history and culture through Hindi poetry. His works are inspired by patriotism, humanity, and ideals of selfless service.
Chapter 4 – पर्वत प्रदेश में प्रवास
Sumitranandan Pant (1900-1977) was a Chhayavaadi poet known for expressing nature, mysticism, and social awareness in his works. He was honored with the Jnanpith and Sahitya Akademi awards.
Chapter 5 – तोप
Viren Dangwal (1947-2015) was a socially conscious poet who brought ordinary life and overlooked details to life through his poetry. His collections were honored with the Sahitya Akademi and Shrikant Verma awards.
Chapter 6 – कर चले हम फ़िदा
Kaifi Azmi (1919-2002) was a progressive Urdu poet and lyricist, whose works reflect social and political awareness along with emotional sensitivity. He was honored with the Sahitya Akademi and several other awards.
Chapter 7 – आमंत्रण
Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was a Nobel laureate poet, musician, and educator who highlighted Indian folk culture, nature, and humanity in his works. He also founded the unique educational institution Shantiniketan.
Chapter 8 – बड़े भाई साहब
The younger brother is playful and carefree, while his elder brother is strict, disciplined and studious. The story revolves around their clash between study and play, exam outcomes that bring pride and pain, and finally a softening of relations as elder-brotherly duty, affection and understanding restore balance.
Chapter 9 – डायरी का एक पन्ना

‘Teesri Kasam’ is a cinematic adaptation of Shailendra’s poetry and Phanishwarnath Renu’s story, where Raj Kapoor perfectly embodies Hiraaman, showcasing innocence and deep emotion.
Chapter 12 – अब कहा दूसरे के दुःख में दुखी होने वाले
Nida Fazli’s works express deep emotions and compassion in simple language, highlighting the harmony and care between nature, humans, and animals.
Chapter 13 – पतझर में टूटी पत्तियाँ
Ravindra Kelekar’s writings highlight the balance between idealism and practicality, deep understanding of life, and the pursuit of peace. In Japan, Zen tradition taught him to live in the present and achieve mental tranquility.
Chapter 14 – कारतूस
Habib Tanvir’s play depicts Wazir Ali’s bravery, his cunning against the British, and the ongoing pursuit by their forces. The story vividly portrays courage, patriotism, and strategic conflict.
